Top-Left Marquee Selection Icon

The Marquee Selection icon is located in the top-left corner of the main toolbar. It is used to select one or multiple design elements on the page by drawing a bounding box around them.

Visual Description

* Icon: A square outline with a dashed or dotted border. * Location: The first icon on the left side of the top toolbar.

Functionality

* Activation: Tapping the icon toggles the “Selection Mode” on. * Action: Once active, dragging a finger across the canvas draws a translucent blue rectangular box (the marquee). * Result: Any design element (e.g., text, shapes) completely or partially enclosed by this box when the finger is released becomes selected.

  • Selected items display a bounding box with white circular handles for resizing and rotation.
  • Contextual tools (dimensions, edit pencil, move arrows) appear near the selected object.

Usage Workflow

  1. Step 1: Tap the Marquee Selection Icon (dashed square) to enter selection mode.
  2. Step 2: Touch the empty canvas area near the target object(s).
  3. Step 3: Drag to expand the blue selection rectangle until it covers the desired elements (e.g., the “Text” object).
  4. Step 4: Release to confirm selection. The object is now ready to be moved, resized, or edited.

Notes

* This tool is particularly useful for selecting multiple objects at once or selecting small/layered objects that are difficult to tap individually.
