How To: Tags - Create, Assign, Add to Folder, Show for Selection
Tags are a unique way to group or access applications, folders, and even other objects. Their associations can be displayed quickly to the user for viewing and selection. Tags are associations, not icons, unless they are linked to a folder (the tag name shows on the folder).
Tags can be used in these container objects:
- sliding drawers
- app drawers
- app drawer (pager)
- app group
- app search.
Add A Tag To An Object (app) Which Is In A Container
Follow this video to add a tag and display its contents.. The video uses an earlier TL user interface, but the procedure has been updated to TL v4.
- Enter Edit mode (see Edit On)
- Have the container objects on the page (or in a window) and tap-hold to select them
- A mini-menu now surrounds the object's icon
- Select the tag icon
- Select add [+]
- Enter the desired tag name in the dialog, click OK
- The new tag name appears; check it
- The new tag name will open with a listing of objects (applications and folders) to select.
- Tap each to create a check (✔) on the desired icon.
- Tap OK
- The new tag group now appears
- Tap the new group to open
- Its contained objects are shown
- Click the tag name in the dialog list to close the new tag group
- Click “x” to close and return to container drawer with new tag
A tag association can include multiple objects and and an object can have multiple tags!
Add A Launcher Action To A Tag
Follow this video to add a launcher action to a tag. The video uses an earlier TL user interface, but the procedure has been updated to TL v4.
- Enter Edit mode (see Edit On
- Have the container objects on the page (or in a window) and tap-hold to select them
- Select the container's tag icon
- Select the add icon to add a tag
- Select the tag naming the desired activity to link to
- In this demo, from the dialog listing, click the launcher action
- Then select from the list of actions; here,
Open tagfor the actual action - Click the add icon
- From the dialog listing, click launcher action
- Select Open tag from the dialog list
- The Open tag dialog opens to a list of available tags for selection, and here the selection of Photos & Images is made (this tag item already existed)
- The new tag “Open tag - Photos & Images” is now shown in the container
The drawer container's bottom menu offers the tag icon 
to provide several actions:
- “A” - tag name can be edited
- ✔ - other objects (apps and folders) can be included
- Tap/Hold icon - reveals a mini-menu:
Option - modify the icon's characteristics
Delete - remove the object
Visibility - cause the object to be hidden / not viewable. Checking or unchecking this item can also show all hidden apps. See a demo video .
“A” - tag or app name can be edited 
Image - change the image to represent the icon- Tag - add or change the associations
